My Honest FoggyStar Review (Tested With A Real Deposit)

FoggyStar casino appeared in the crypto gambling space at the beginning of 2022. I do like to test new casinos as they could offer a fresh approach to the industry. At the same time, new brands can also have different issues related to the lack of experience in the field, so my review could help them improve the services they offer.

To create this FoggyStar review, I will make my first deposit, go through their Terms & Conditions, have a chat with customer support, and request a withdrawal to test out its speed and reliability. As always, I will be using my own money to test the casino out, so there is no pressure or obligation to hide any problematic sides of this gambling website.

✔️ Is FoggyStar legit? (5/5)

FoggyStar is a licensed casino that operates under the Curacao authority. This is a common thing among crypto-focused casinos, as Curacao allows the fastest, cheapest, and hassle-free gambling operation.

There are no reports of any scam activities found online, but we need to keep in mind that FoggyStar is still a pretty young casino with a low user base. Right now, there is no reason for me to deduct any points in this section of the review, but I will definitely keep this brand under observation and update this article if any shady activity comes out.

🎲 Games and providers (5/5)

The selection of games presented at FoggyStar is quite solid. I can see more than 30 game providers published in the slots lobby. That’s a good number.

The live casino lobby looks even more promising, with over 10 software studios available to choose from.

This section of FoggyStar’s review gets the maximum number of points. I was very satisfied with the game’s arsenal during the whole testing period, and I guess the selection of the games will be more than sufficient for players’ daily gambling needs.

🎰 Slots RTP (0/5)

Unfortunately, you will not find any RTP numbers published anywhere on FoggyStar’s website. The support agent advised me to surf the web to find this information.

Why is it good to see the RTP numbers right on the casino platform? Nowadays, several software providers allow the casinos to publish the same game with slightly different Return to Player rates. It means that the same game can return from 90% to 98% depending on the settings chosen by the casino management.

Transparent RTP information will give a very good idea of what to expect when selecting a game to play. A higher RTP rate will allow you to get better payouts in the long term. This section of FoggyStar’s review does not get any points from me.

💰 Payment methods (5/5)

FoggyStar is a pure crypto casino, meaning that you will not be able to play here using any fiat payment method, such as a credit or a debit card. At the time of writing, there are more than 10 different coins presented both for deposits and withdrawals: BTC, LTC, DOGE, BCH, ETH, XRP, ADA, USDT (ERC20 and TRC20 ), USD Coin, and TRX.

Here you can see the minimum deposit amounts that I was able to find in the T&Cs.

Moreover, you can see the minimum amounts for withdrawal requests, which look reasonable to me.

According to the T&Cs’ rule number 5.4, you have to wager your deposit at least once before requesting a cashout.

But after scrolling for a while, I have found another rule. This rule says that you need to wager the deposited funds at least 3 times in order to request a cashout without any additional withdrawal fees.

I have decided to double-check this information with a customer support agent. The agent said that the general rule is a 1x wagering. It was also later confirmed that the cashouts were processed free of charge.

I have made my first deposit using Bitcoin.

The balance was immediately credited to my account, which is really great. I hate when there is a need to wait for at least one network confirmation for the money to be credited. The network confirmation can be checked very easily as soon as the user requests a cashout rather than delaying the deposit.

This section of FoggyStar’s review gets the maximum rating from me. The selection of crypto assets available to play with is more than enough. The minimum amounts for deposits and withdrawals are also reasonable. The 1x wagering requirement is an industry standard, and what I especially like is that the withdrawals are free.

🚀 Welcome bonuses (1/5)

You can decide whether to take the welcome offer or not right during the registration process. This is great because I don’t want to take the bonus with the conditions offered by FoggyStar. Let me explain why.

Their welcome offer is a 100% match bonus of up to 1 BTC for a first deposit. And of course, these types of bonuses always come with some wagering requirements attached.

Let’s check the Terms and Conditions to know what kind of wagering requirement is exactly required by the casino. According to the T&Cs, you need to wager 25x times both the bonus and the deposited amount. In reality, it means that the bonus has a 50x wagering attached to it.

Another thing to take into consideration is related to the fact that the welcome offer also comes in 10 different parts. Each new part is released only after you clear the previous one. This rule reduces your chances to hit a massive multiplier, as it is less likely to catch it without having the whole bonus amount credited right away.

You will also be spending your real money balance first while clearing the bonus.

The withdrawal option becomes available only after you complete the wagering process for all 10 parts of the bonus.

I find this welcome offer impossible for users to benefit from and you should not take it at any cost. First of all, a 50x wagering requirement is huge. Mathematically, you will lose the entire balance way earlier than completing the betting requirement process.

Here is an example. After depositing 100 USD you will get a 10 USD bonus to your account. Now you have to wager 500 USD to clear the first batch of the bonus. With a 96% RTP slot, you will lose 4% of your bets in the long term (500 x 4% = 20 USD). Your remaining balance is 110 – 20 = 90 USD. Then you get another 10 USD to clear, and these cycles repeat 10 times in total.

How much would you have left after completing all these steps? Your total balance, including the bonus funds, will be 200 USD. You lose 20 USD each cycle, and there are 10 cycles. Right, you will have nothing left after clearing the bonus.

You can get the match bonuses for the second, third and fourth deposits as well. They all have different top-up rates, but they share the same problem: they all have high wagering requirements, so there are no reasons to request them.

Let’s now check another promo that can be considered as a welcome offer: Easy start 20 FS. You get 5 no deposit free spins and you can also claim another 15 FS for verifying your phone number.

Unfortunately, there is a 35x wagering requirement attached to the winnings gained from these free spins, so there is almost no chance to get any real profits after playing with those free spins.

I give this section of FoggyStar’s casino review only one point out of five. Their first deposit, the 100% match bonus, is not worth taking at all and you will not win any significant amount of money with 20 no deposit free spins either.

📢 Promotions (3/5)

You will find two major promotions that FoggyStar casino is offering to its players:

  • Tournaments
  • Loyalty shop

There are several tournament structures presented, but the general idea is to force you to place more bets. The more you play, the higher the chances are to get into the leaderboard.

The good news is that the winnings gained from the tournaments do not have any type of restriction or any wagering requirements. As the casino is still pretty new, the competition in the tournaments is also low, so you can have a real chance to win.

Let’s now move to the Loyalty program and a shop that you can use to exchange your points for bonuses and cash. You start the journey on level 1 and there are 100 levels in total for you to reach.

The formula for calculating the experience points is simple: your bets are multiplied by the level coefficient.

The coefficient is 0.1 on the first 9 levels and starts to grow on level 10. On the final 100th level you will get the max coefficient possible, which is 0.3.

I have tested the system with a 1 USD bet and received 0.19 experience points. I have also received 0.02 diamonds – this is a casino currency that you can spend on the loyalty shop.

What kind of level-up rewards will you get during the journey? You start by getting free spins throughout the first levels. As you move forward and reach new levels, you get improved reload bonuses, cash, cashback, and a luxury electric car on the final level.

The assortment of the loyalty shop consists of free spins, wagering bonuses, and cash. For example, you can exchange 600 diamonds for a 5 USD no-wagering cash bonus here. I have received 0.02 diamonds after wagering 1 dollar, so I have to wager 600 / 0.02 = 30,000 USD in total to exchange those points for a 5 USD reward.

The free spins bonuses come with a 35x wagering requirement attached and I guess it is better to invest the points in real cash, instead of free spins.

I like the structure of this loyalty program, but it would be nice to see more detailed information regarding the level-up bonuses. Right now, you just need to place bets without knowing what you will exactly receive on the next level. The rakeback that you can get after exchanging your points in the shop is a good addition, although the rate is pretty low.

I give the promo section of FoggyStar three points out of five. It looks like you can have a real chance to win a prize in one of their tournaments and get some rewards in the loyalty program. The problem is that there is no transparency regarding the prizes and it is hard to say, whether the loyalty program is rewarding or not.

🔎 KYC and anonymity (3/5)

Here you can see the list of restricted countries that FoggyStar casino is not available in. Please note that this list might be updated in the future, so make sure to check the actual information in the T&Cs.

In the same way, as in any other Curacao-licensed casino, FoggyStar has the right to initiate a KYC verification, which includes a proof of ID and a proof of address.

According to the customer support agent I talked to, KYC checks are requested in case of a large winning, fraudulent activity, or when you were lucky enough to fulfill the wagering requirements of their no-deposit free spins bonus and request a withdrawal.

It basically means that there should be no verification process for smaller withdrawals and if you don’t use their no-deposit welcome offer. I give this section of FoggyStar’s review three points out of five, as this is my standard rating for most Curacao casino brands.

👨‍💻 Customer support (4/5)

When I started to surf through FoggyStar’s website, there was no possibility to contact their live support agents. I have even sent a couple of questions using their contact form.

One hour later, I noticed that the live support chat box became available, so I decided to check if they operate 24/7. It appeared that they don’t cover the whole day as of yet but they promised that will work all day long in the near future.

Other than that, there were no issues while talking to the support agent. Nick was friendly and quite knowledgeable to answer all my questions. I deduct one point in this section of the review for the insufficient working hours of live support and I hope that this would be solved soon.

⚡ Speed of withdrawals (2/5)

After playing for a while, I decided to request the small amount left on my balance. The withdrawal was processed to the same Bitcoin address.

According to the transaction history, the request was made at 13:16.

Two and a half hours later it was still not released from the platform, so I decided to check the status. The support agent told me that the payment was confirmed from the casino’s side, and it was now waiting for confirmation from the payment provider. The payment provider releases the payments only three times per day during working days.

If you decide to get your cashout during the weekend, then this process could theoretically take up to 24 hours, as the withdrawals are confirmed only once per day.

I received my cashout at 17:10, almost four hours after the request was made.

I give this section of the review only two points, as this is not the right way a crypto casino should organize the payments.

Crypto players want to get their money fast and without paying high fees. FoggyStar should take control of the whole payment process and release the payments as soon as possible. There is no need to wait for a confirmation from some third-party service provider as this procedure can be easily organized in-house and directly by the casino platform. The casino representative at bitcointalk forum promised that the speed of withdrawals will be improved in the future.

🌐 Is VPN allowed? (5/5)

There is no information regarding the usage of a VPN in the casino’s Terms and Conditions, so I reached the live support agent for clarifications. FoggyStar does not recommend its players use a VPN while playing.

At the same time, they say that your account won’t be banned if you won’t break any rules.

It means that you cannot use a VPN to bypass the country restrictions listed in the T&Cs, which is something that you should not do at any casino. But you can use a VPN to access the casino’s website if your country is not on the forbidden list.

I give this section of FoggyStar’s review the maximum number of points available. The VPN should not be your solution to enter the casino if your country is not supported by this gambling site, but you could use it to bypass local restrictions if that is the case.

🏁 Final verdict (3.3/5)

Like every new casino entering the market, FoggyStar has some issues that should get fixed when the casino management gets more feedback and experience. The essential thing to pay attention to first is the withdrawal time, especially during the weekends. I also think that a 50x wagering requirement attached to the welcome offer is too high. The bonus partition rule is also weird and makes the whole process even more complicated for players.

On a positive note, the loyalty system might look promising if it becomes more transparent in the future. Free of charge withdrawals are also something that adds convenience to any crypto gambling website. I believe that FoggyStar can have a bright future if the important aspects listed above get fixed.
