My Honest Wowcasino Review (Tested With A Real Deposit)

Wowcasino is a new crypto casino brand that appeared on the gambling market at the beginning of 2022. I would probably give this website a bit more time to work before making this review, but their marketing campaign left me without a choice.

According to the banner that Wowcasino purchased on bitcointalk, they pretend to be the #1 crypto casino. I am always skeptical when brands state that they are the best, number one, or any other pretentiously sounding bullshit.

Today I am going to make an honest Wowcasino review to check whether their statement is true or not. I will use my own crypto to make a deposit and then I will try to receive a withdrawal to analyze how fast they are processed. I will also ask several questions to support agents and look through the bonuses or promotions that Wowcasino offers.

✔️ Is Wowcasino legit? (5/5)

Like many other cryptocurrency casinos, this one is also operating under Curacao’s license. It is always better to see, at least, Curacao’s license than no license at all. But in practice, it does not make any huge difference.

Curacao license is cheap to maintain, it is fast to get and it can easily be obtained by shady companies. I don’t mean that every Curacao casino cannot be trusted, but I just want you to be more vigilant when using a Curacao licensed gambling website.

Wowcasino is still pretty young and it does not have any issues or unresolved cases published online. Right now, I give this section of the review the maximum number of points, but I will keep an eye on the casino’s reputation during its first year of operation.

There are only 8 different game providers presented on Wowcasino with two of them offering live casino games: Evolution and Pragmatic Play Live.

The selection of games is very small, and I hardly imagine how this casino can become your day-to-day website for gambling with this small game arsenal. Maybe, it is fine to have two providers for live games, but definitely, the variety of slot titles is not enough.

I would suggest Wowcasino cooperate with one of the game aggregators in order to complete the game collection with all the popular software brands. The aggregator can provide access to thousands of games with a simple integration, which is a reliable and fast way to expand the games offered.

I cannot give this section of Wowcasino’s review more than two points. The list of the games was insufficient for me during the one-day testing period, and it is surely too small for daily usage.

I was not able to find any RTP numbers published on the website, so I decided to check this with the customer support team. According to the available agent, this information should be available on some info box when the game loads, but this is not something that works with every provider.

Some providers indeed publish the RTP somewhere inside the game, but some others don’t. I would prefer to see the RTP numbers somewhere on the casino’s website. Knowing the Return to Player rate is essential for Wowcasino users, as the welcome offer here has a wagering requirement attached, which is easier to clear on high RTP games.

This section of Wowcasino’s review does not receive any points from me. The RTP information should not be a secret and it will add more transparency to the casino operations.

There are six different cryptocurrencies available for Wowcasino players: Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Dogecoin, Bitcoin Cash, and Cardano.

I will run my test using Bitcoin, which has a 0.0002 BTC (around 8 USD at the time of writing) minimum deposit amount.

The minimum withdrawal amount is set to 50 USD equivalent for all supported crypto assets.

Wowcasino expects you to wager your deposit at least once before requesting a withdrawal. It is hard to understand if this is a mandatory thing or not, but even a 1x requirement is easily doable and it is an industry standard.

The support has also confirmed that there is no withdrawal fee deducted from players when requesting a cashout.

Unfortunately, this is not something that I can check and confirm. The biggest problem with payments here at Wowcasino is that once you make your deposit with crypto it is being exchanged for a USD balance. It means that you are not holding crypto assets on your casino balance, you are holding dollars instead. In case of large volatility, your deposited amount can also suffer.

I would prefer to keep my balance in crypto and only convert it inside the games if needed. If the price of Bitcoin decreases while I am playing at Wowcasino I could end up getting fewer coins back on my withdrawal even if I won a small amount of money.

Another issue is that the casino does not show the exchange rate anywhere on the deposit or withdrawal window. It all makes it hard for me to track the numbers. Was the withdrawal fee deducted? I don’t know, because the cashout was requested in USD, converted using an unknown rate, and sent to my wallet in BTC.

I deduct two points for these conversion-related issues. The gambling platform should not become a trading platform. I don’t want to think about crypto volatility and find myself trying to pick a better time to withdraw my funds. The crypto casino should hold the balances in cryptocurrency, this will save users from any surprises connected to price fluctuations in the market.

🚀 Welcome bonuses (1/5)

You can receive a 100% match bonus of up to $5,000 on your first deposit. It means that your deposited balance will be doubled with the same amount of bonus funds. You cannot withdraw the bonus money right away, there is a certain wagering requirement that should be completed before the bonus money becomes part of your real money balance.  

The welcome bonus at Wowcasino will require you to wager the bonus amount 40 times. The maximum bet while clearing the bonus is also limited to 5 USD.

Is the 40x wagering requirement worth trying to accomplish? I don’t think so. Every bonus with a wagering requirement exceeding x25 is mathematically designed against the players.

Here is the scenario if you decide to take the 40x bonus and will try to complete the requirements. Let’s say you make 100 USD as your first deposit and get 100 USD extra as a bonus. Now you need to wager 100 x 40 = 4,000 USD to clear the bonus money.

The average RTP in slot games is 96%, meaning that you will lose 4% of your bets in the long term. How much would you lose after placing 4k in bets? 4,000 x 4% = 160 USD. You have started your journey with 200 USD and after clearing the bonus you would have only 40 USD left.

This is how the math works. It does not mean that there is no way to hit a winning streak and get some nice winnings while clearing the bonus out, but this would be a rare case. Most of the time you will simply lose it all while trying to beat the wagering conditions.

The welcome offer is credited on your first deposit no matter if you want to take it or not. The Customer Support agent told me that the bonus can be canceled if I decide to do so.

There is no functionality to cancel the bonus yourself, so you need to contact the support team and ask them to do so on your behalf.

I give this section of Wowcasino’s review only one point out of five. The welcome bonus here has a big wagering requirement attached and is not worth taking. The whole operation behind the first welcome bonus is also organized in the wrong way. There should be an option to refuse the welcome offer while making a deposit if a user does not need it.

📢 Promotions (0/5)

It was a surprise for me that Wowcasino does not offer any promotions at all. They have a Drops and Wins promo listed in the section, but this one is sponsored by Pragmatic Play and presented on multiple casino websites.

This section of the review does not receive any points at all, unfortunately. I guess every casino should have at least some sort of a VIP program or any similar promo that will award the players according to the number of bets they make.

I give this section of Wowcasino’s review three points out of five. This is the same rating that receive almost all Curacao casinos. Most likely you would not be asked to pass the KYC check on a small withdrawal. But the verification will definitely be triggered if you start to make lots of cashouts and if you surpass a certain threshold.

Live chat agents were online during the whole experiment, and I have no negative comments related to the quality of their support service. The answers were given fast, they were straightforward and without any additional marketing shit that many support services try to implement. I give this section of Wowcasino’s review the maximum points available.

⚡ Speed of withdrawals (4/5)

After playing for a while, I requested a cashout back to my BTC wallet.

The confirmation box says that Wowcasino tries to send all the withdrawals within one hour.

As there is no transaction history available on the casino’s website, I will have to monitor the emails to know how fast the process is. I requested my cashout at 13:58 and it was processed 47 minutes later at 14:45.

The transaction has also become visible in my Bitcoin wallet.

I give this section of Wowcasino’s review four points out of five. I usually give a maximum rating if cashouts are processed in less than 20 minutes.

🌐 Is VPN allowed? (4/5)

I could not find any VPN-related information in the casino’s Terms and Conditions. There is a strong recommendation from the support team not to use a VPN while playing.

While the usage of VPN does not seem to be restricted, I still deduct one point in this section of the review. The way in which the support agent informed me about the VPN makes me think that it might not be 100% safe to use.

Is Wowcasino the number #1 crypto casino? Definitely not. I would say that it is not even in the top 20 list of best casinos. The selection of the games is small, the welcome bonus is hard to clear and there are no promotions at all. To be honest, I cannot find any reason to play here.
